About the Qualia Name

Qualia is defined as subjective experiences, "the ways things seem to us" and the "ineffable" quality of our sensations. It is the perfect name for a company that creates visitor-centric experiences that are engaging, meaningful and accessible.

Company Background

Qualia began as RMD in 2002 and was renamed Qualia Creative Limited in 2009. The company shortened its name in 2016 to emphasise its core expertise in providing new experiences that people can connect with. The company is run by Richard Mathers MA, its founder and Director.

Qualia has an excellent reputation for combining innovative thinking with place-specific design innovations, public engagement and interactivity. The company has worked on many listed buildings, scheduled ancient monuments and UNESCO World Heritage sites.
